Overview

John Davis serves as Program Manager of Mississippi State University’s Industrial Training and Assessment Center (ITAC) within the IDEELab. In this role, he partners with manufacturing companies across Mississippi to identify and implement energy efficiency improvements, while providing students with hands-on experience in solving real-world engineering challenges. His leadership bridges academia and industry, ensuring students develop both technical expertise and practical problem-solving skills.

Initiatives and Impact

Industrial Energy Efficiency & Workforce Development
Through ITAC, Davis leads initiatives that promote energy efficiency in Mississippi’s manufacturing sector. He trains and mentors students in energy auditing, process optimization, and data-driven decision-making, equipping them with the skills to make an immediate impact in the workforce. His efforts not only reduce industrial energy consumption but also prepare the next generation of engineers to lead in sustainable and effective manufacturing practices.

Research in Wavelength-Selective Photovoltaic Systems
Davis’s research explores wavelength-selective photovoltaic systems, aiming to enhance renewable energy capture while integrating energy generation into existing infrastructure. His work contributes to the advancement of economically viable, sustainable energy technologies that can be applied across industrial and agricultural settings.
